Grain exports from Ukrainian seaports declined 21%

In the period from December 15 to December 21 of the current year, 536 thou. tons of main grain crops were exported from the Ukrainian seaports. This indicator is 21% less than the volume shipped in the prior period, APK-Inform reports.

Wheat shipments decreased by 7% to 132 thou. tons, and corn — by 26% to 395 thou. tons. At the same time, the volume of barley exports increased to 9 thou. tons against 3 thou. tons a week earlier.

Since the start of MY2018/19, the maximum volume of main grain crops was shipped from Mykolaiv (5 million tons), Chernomorsk (4.2 million tons) and Yuzhny seaports (3.6 million tons).

The largest volumes of main grains in the reporting week were delivered to Italy (120 thou. tons), Egypt (89 thou. tons), and Indonesia (59 thou. tons).

In January-November 2018, seaports of Ukraine handled 35.86 million tons of grain cargoes.
