Global sugar deficit in 2019/20 expected at 1.36 mln t

The global sugar market is on the way to a deficit of 1.36 million tons, Reuters reports.
The global 2018/19 sugar surplus forecast is reduced to 2.64 million tons vs the previous forecast of 3.6 million tons. In 2017/18, the global surplus stood at 19.6 million tons.
“(The) size of the 17/18 crop year surplus...was so big that it was bound to force change quickly,” analyst Green Pool said.
In 2018, Ukraine exported 586.5 thou. tons of sugar for the amount of USD 217.09 million. This volume is 2% lower than in 2017. In MY2017/18, Ukraine shipped 560 thou. tons of sugar.
