KSG Agro increased pig products sales by 6.3 pct in 2018

The 2018 results show that the KSG Agro agricultural holding increased its sales of pig-breeding products by 6.3 pct compared to 2017 and reached about UAH 403 million.

In comparison with 2017, KSG Agro holding’s pig sales last year increased by 6.3%. By the end of 2018, the agroholding’s sales of live pigs amounted to about 93 thou. heads.

“In 2018, we continued concentrating on our strategic priority — pig breeding, which, by the end of 2018, again demonstrated its high efficiency,” commented Sergiy Kasyanov, Chairman of KSG Agro’s Board of Directors. “Despite the objective difficulties on the market, we managed to maintain the capacity and profitability of the business, as a result of the introduction of a number of technological and managerial measures. The company focused on the reconstruction of pig-breeding capacities. Throughout the past year, the volume of consumer demand consistently exceeded our production capacity. As a result, the average sales price exceeded the same indicator in 2017 by 16.5 pct, amounting to about 44 UAH/kg”.

According to the Head of KSG Agro’s Board of Directors, in 2019 the company plans to keep great efficiency of the pig industry by maintaining a high level of livestock quality.

In 2018, LLC Rantye, which is responsible for the development of the pig complex in the village of Niva Trudova, Dnipropetrovsk region, maintained a total number of livestock c.55 thou. heads.

In the first half of 2018, the KSG Agro company received a three times lower profit of USD 0.98 million as compared to the corresponding period of 2017.
