Ukraine produced 3.3 thou. tons of organic berries in 2018

In 2018, more than 3.3 thou. tons of organic berries were produced in Ukraine. This was informed by Sergiy Galashevsky, Head of Organic Standard, Organic Business School informs on its Facebook page.

The volumes of berry production are as follows:

• raspberries — 2.81 thou. tons;
• garden strawberry — 0.37 thou. tons;
• blueberries — 0.04 thou. tons;
• other berries — 0.13 thou. tons.

The areas under organic berries amounted to 850 hectares, namely:

• raspberry — 563.6 ha;
• blueberries — 105.7 ha;
• garden strawberry — 51 ha;
• other berries — 44.3 ha.

As previously reported, apple reserves in Ukraine as at February 1, 2019, are estimated at 280 thou. tons which is 42% more than the previous year. This is an absolute record of apple reserves at this date in the history of Ukraine.
