Frozen berries exports yielded a record USD 78 mln

Exports of frozen fruit and berries in 2018 improved 28 pct to a record USD 78 million, EastFruit reports.

Over two years (2017-2018), revenues from the export of frozen berries amounted to 54 pct. This figure proves that this product yields the second largest export revenue in the fruit and vegetable segment after walnuts (USD 117 million in 2018).

The export of strawberry increased more noticeably — by almost 6 times, raspberries — 1.5 times, and other frozen berries (mainly blueberries and wild blueberries) — by 42 pct. Total exports of frozen berries and fruit in 2018 amounted to 47.8 thou. tons, which was a new record for Ukraine.

In 2018, Ukraine exported fruit and berries for the amount of USD 229 million, 17 pct more than in 2017.
