TAS AGRO increased farmland volume in 2018
During the year 2018, TAS AGRO increased its farmland volume to 83 thou. hectares. This was informed by Sergei Tigipko, the owner of the financial and industrial group TAS (TAS AGRO), in the interview for NV, AgroTimes informs.
“In 2018, we acquired the lease rights for 8.5 thou. hectares of farmland: 3.5 thou. hectares in Kherson region under irrigation and 5 thou. hectares in Chernihiv. Currently, we have about 83 thou. hectares. And we are considering two more acquisitions: 3 thou. hectares and 12 thou. hectares. If we agree on the terms, we will finalize it,” Sergei Tigipko commented.

According to Sergei Tigipko, TAS AGRO is not moving to processing yet.
“Analyzing bank operations, we see the profitability of many businesses for example egg, chicken or milk production. And we do not see any greater profitability than just from the production of grain,” he noted.
As previously reported, agrocompanies need to consolidate and unify their land inventory to clearly understand how much land is in accounting, how much is cultivated and how to minimize the discrepancy in data.
