European countries dominate the Ukrainian sunflower seeds imports in Q1 2019

In Q1 2019, Ukraine exported 33.7 thou. tons of sunflower seeds for the amount of USD 14.4 million.

By the data of the State Fiscal Service of Ukraine (SFSU), the main importers of sunflower seeds in the reporting period are as follows:

• Turkey — 23.5 thou. tons (USD 10 million);
• Romania — 1.7 thou. tons (USD 0.7 million);
• Finland — 1.2 thou. tons (USD 0.5 million);
• others — 7.2 thou. tons (USD 3 million).

Earlier it was reported that since the start of 2018/19 Vinnytsya Oil and Fat Plant, a structural division of the ViOil Group, processed more than 100 thou. tons of high-oleic (HO) sunflower seeds and produced more than 40 thou. tons of high-oleic sunflower oil.
