Rapeseed meal exports from Ukraine hit a record volume

In July-March 2018/19, record 161.8 thou. tons of rapeseed meal were exported from Ukraine, UkrAgroConsult informs.
In February 2019, rapeseed meal exports reduced to 0.4 thou. tons if compared with the previous month and stood at 4.8 thou. tons (February 2018: 0.5 thou. tons).
Progress in the processing of rapeseed provided for the increase in export potential of the rapeseed meal market. In 2018/19, Ukraine has the potential to export about 165 thou. tons of rapeseed meal.
The key importers of Ukrainian rapeseed meal are as follows:
- European Union — 73 per cent of all exports from Ukraine;
- Morocco — 13 per cent;
- Israel — 12 per cent;
- Belarus — 1 per cent;
- Turkey — 1 per cent.
In July-January 2018/19, the EU countries imported 11.8 million tons of oilseeds, 15 per cent more than in the prior season's comparative period.
