Chicken consumption in Ukraine stood at 1.2 mln tons

The latest experts estimates show that last year in Ukraine 1.2 million tons of chicken meat were consumed, TSN.ua reports.

This product accounts for at least half of meat consumption by citizens. Due to its relatively low price, chicken is popular in Ukraine.

According to the report, annual chicken consumption per capita in Ukraine stands at an average of 15 kg, beef — 5.5 kg.

In 2019, chicken meat production is expected to grow by 7.4 per cent to 1.89 million tons vs. 2018.
