Grain export 2018/19: wheat supplies 8 pct lower

As of May 17th, wheat exports from Ukraine in the 2018/19 season stood at 14.6 million tons, 8 per cent (1.1 million tons) lower from the previous year's relative indicator.

The overall export of grains and pulses from Ukraine since the start of 2018/19 has reached 44.6 million tons of grain and leguminous crops. This volume is 25.23 per cent (8.9 million tons) more than the indicator for the last year's comparative period (35.7 million tons).

The Agrarian Ministry reports the following volumes of exported crops:

  • wheat — 14.6 million tons;
  • corn — 25.8 million tons;
  • barley — 3.4 million tons;
  • rye — 88.2 thou. tons.

The gross value of agricultural production in 2019 is expected to reach UAH 258.6 billion, 3.7 per cent less from the previous year.
