Ukrlandfarming sowing campaign 85 pct complete

Ukrlandfarming Group of companies has completed 85 per cent of grain and leguminous crops sowing campaign. The company's branches have finalized sunflower planting, while soybean and corn is still in process, Unian informs.

“The sowing campaign in the Ukrlandfarming fields is still ongoing. This is connected with rainfalls and the physical impossibility for carrying out fieldwork. About 15 per cent of farmland is left," the message says.

The company noted that by May 22nd, the agroholding had 97 per cent completed sunflower and corn sowing, and soybeans — 70 per cent. According to the report, the weather conditions in the spring of 2019 contributed neither to fast sowing season nor to the quality development of spring crops already sown.

As of mid-May, the crops in the Group's fields were in a satisfactory condition.

"Under normal weather/climate events, a good harvest is possible since moisture supply stabilized at the initial stages of crop development," the press service stresses.

By the company's data, the weather conditions in June will significantly affect the development of early spring crops, in July they will affect corn, and in August they will affect the yield of soybean and sunflower.

As of May 20th, soybean sowing in Ukraine is completed on 1.25 million hectares or 69 pct of the areas. Early spring grain and leguminous crops in Ukraine are sown on an area of 6.6 million hectares, or 91 pct of the projected areas.
