New wheat standard in Ukraine effective before 2019/20

An order was issued to amend the date of entry into force of the new standard for wheat DSTU 3768:2019 “Wheat. Technical conditions”, replacing the effective DSTU 3768:2010, the Ukrainian Research and Training Center of Standardization, Certification and Quality (SE UkrNDNC) informs.

Under the new order, the new standard for wheat will take effect on June 10th 2019 before the start of the 2019/20 season.

The appeal of the European Business Association (EBA) to the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food and UkrNDNC to change the date of effect of the new state standard for wheat from August to early June before the harvest campaign starts.

As noted in the appeal, a change in standards during the harvesting campaign would lead to significant complications and confusion in the reception, storage, shipment and accounting of grain at enterprises, and would also complicate the international grain trade.

Previously it was reported that the order was issued in Ukraine to adopt a new standard for wheat DSTU 3768:2019 "Wheat. Technical conditions" replacing the current DSTU 3768:2010.
