Ukrainian agri products export in Jan-Apr up 18 pct

In January-April 2019, exports of Ukrainian agricultural products increased by 18.6 pct y-o-y (USD 1,1 billion) and amounted to USD 7,1 billion. This was informed by the acting Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Olga Trofimtseva.

Among the top destinations for Ukrainian agricultural products are the following:

  • Asian countries — 41.6 pct (USD 2,96 billion);
  • EU countries — 33.5 pct (USD 2,38 billion);
  • African countries — 15.7 pct (USD 1,1 billion);
  • CIS — 6.6 pct (USD 472,2 million);
  • the USA — 0.5 pct (USD 35,6 million).

Corn exports reached USD 2,37 billion, sunflower oil — USD 1,47 billion, wheat and meslin (wheat/rye-mixture) — USD 808,5 million, soybeans — USD 344.6 million, poultry meat and by-products — USD 199,2 million, soybean oil — USD 87,2 million and rapeseed — USD 73,4 million.

Import of agricultural products to Ukraine in the reporting period amounted to USD 2,01 billion.

Ukraine ranked third among the key countries-suppliers of agri-food products to the EU over the past 12 months, having exceeded the Chinese deliveries.
