President Zelenskiy withdrew a set of orders regulating agribusiness activities

On 20 June, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskiy issued three decrees cancelling more than 150 similar administrative decisions of the preceding presidents, AgroPolit.com reports with reference to the President's official website.

These are decrees, separate articles and paragraphs of decrees adopted by all preceding presidents of the country. Most of these decisions concerned the work of ministries and public services, as well as business development.

Specifically, agribusiness is concerned with 9 decrees:

  • Decree of the President of Ukraine No. 9 of December 19, 1991 On temporary urgent measures to strengthen the fight against speculation and illegal trade activities;
  • Decree of the President of Ukraine No. 504 of 2 November 1993 On the payment of state duty for bills of exchange;
  • Decree of the President of Ukraine No. 577 of 11 December 1993 Issues related to the provision of state sugar resources;
  • Decree of the President of Ukraine No. 213 of 5 May 1994 On measures to liberalize export policy in Ukraine;
  • Decree of the President of Ukraine No. 812 of 28 December 1994 On certain measures to support enterprises, institutions and organizations in the context of price liberalization;
  • Decree of the President of Ukraine No. 63 of 18 January 1995 On measures to reform agricultural relations;
  • Decree of the President of Ukraine No. 603 of 11 July 1995 On state regulation of trade relations;
  • Decree of the President of Ukraine No. 609 of July 12, 1995 On excise duty brands on alcoholic beverages and tobacco products;
  • Decree of the President of Ukraine No. 849 of 18 September 1995 On the introduction of excise duty brands on alcoholic beverages and tobacco products.

Most of the withdrawn decrees were issued during the presidency of Leonid Kuchma and Viktor Yanukovych. Only 8 decrees issued by Leonid Kravchuk in 1991-1994 and 2 by Viktor Yushchenko in 2005 were cancelled.

As previously reported, the farmland market liberalization in Ukraine might occur within a year.
