US corn planting 2019 complete
As at June 23rd, 99 percent of corn areas in the United States were planted, USDA reports. In 2018, corn planting in the country was complete by June 9th.
The data in the report show crop progress in 18 states which planted 92 per cent of the 2018 corn acreage.
As of the reporting date, corn in the country emerged on 89 percent of the area compared to 100 percent last year, and 99 percent on average over the past five years.
Crop condition is fair on 32 percent of the area compared to 18 percent in the corresponding period last year, good — 48 percent (58 percent in the relevant period last year) and excellent condition of crops — 8 percent of areas. 9 percent of crops are in poor condition vs. 4 percent as of the corresponding date last year.
As previously reported, a reduction of corn production in the US by the USDA report met the market expectations.
