Largest grain terminal in Ukraine commissioned in port Pivdenny

On September 6, 2019, Cargill and M.V. Cargo grain terminal was officially commissioned in the port of Pivdenny, Elevatorist.com reports.

The total storage capacity makes up 290 thou. t. The terminal's designed transshipment capacity is up to 5 mln t per year.

The terminal's capacity is presented by 14 silos 15 thou. tons each by GSI company and concrete floor warehouse with a total capacity of up to 80 thou. t of grain. The floor warehouse is a monolithic reinforced concrete construction with six-meter walls and a metal roof.

By the time of the opening ceremony, the terminal has transshipped in a test mode more than 1 mln t of commodities — forage and food wheat, corn. In the new season, the company is set to transship more than 3 mln t of grain.

The terminal has its own 420 m long berth. The depth at the berth reaches 16 m. The approximate loading time of Panamax type vessels is 1.5-2 days.

Previously reported that M.V. Cargo introduced JIT+ service for automation of agricultural logistics designed to organize grain trucks logistics and minimize queues at the access to the terminal.
