Grain export 2019/20: corn shipment up 40 pct

Since the start of 2019/20, corn exports from Ukraine have reached 1.88 mln t, 557 thou. t of 42% higher from the prior year's comparative indicator, 1.32 mln t.

As of September 16th, Ukraine delivered to foreign markets 11.12 mln t of grain and leguminous crops. Commodities shipment increased 3.79 mln t (1.5x) from the prior year's comparative period, 7.32 mln t.

By the data of the Agrarian Ministry, grain exported volumes in the reporting period are as follows:

  • wheat —  6.75 mln t (up 2.71 mln t y-o-y);
  • barley — 2.45 mln t (up 667 thou. t y-o-y);
  • corn — 1.88 mln t (up 557 thou. t y-o-y);
  • rye — 1.9 thou. t (33 thou. t less y-o-y).

In the 2018/19 season, grain exports from Ukraine reached 49,74 mln t. This volume is 21% (10.37 mln t) higher from the indicator for the last year's comparative period (39.37 mln t).
