Harvest Online 2019: sunflower campaign 50 pct done

As of September 18, 2019, 5.8 mln t of sunflower were harvested in Ukraine on an area of 3 mln ha or 52% of the forecast using the average yield of 2.23 t/ha.

By the reporting date, harvesting of grain and leguminous crops in Ukraine has been carried out on the area of 10.5 mln ha or 69% of the total. The crop reached 41.6 mln t using the average yield of 3.97 t/ha.

By the Harvest Online 2019 project, the new crop volumes are as followed:

  • early grain and leguminous crops — 39.3 mln t on 9.97 mln ha or 99.9% of the total area;
  • buckwheat — 49 thou. t on 36 thou. ha or 54%;
  • millet — 128 thou. t on 68 thou. ha or 76%;
  • corn — 2 mln t on 338 thou. ha or 7%;
  • soybean — 1.4 mln t on 593 thou. ha or 28% yielding 2.29 t/ha;
  • sunflower — 5.8 mln t on 3 mln ha or 52% yielding 2.23 t/ha;
  • sugar beet — 558 thou. t on 12 thou. ha yielding 45.77 t/ha (2018: 46.7 t/ha).
