Harvest Online 2019: key sunflower yielding regions of Ukraine

As of September 20, 2019, 7.5 mln t of sunflower are harvested in Ukraine on an area of 3.4 mln ha or 58% of the forecast using the average yield of 2.21 t/ha.

The highest sunflower yield is reported in Cherkasy (3,28 t/ha), Vinnytsya (3,17 t/ha), Khmelnytsky (3,14 t/ha), Sumy (3,03 t/ha) and Poltava (2,94 t/ha) regions.

By the reporting date, harvesting of grain and leguminous crops in Ukraine has been carried out on the area of 10.6 mln ha or 69% of the total. The crop reached 42.4 mln t using the average yield of 4 t/ha.

By the Harvest Online 2019 project, the new crop volumes are as followed:

  • early grain and leguminous crops — 39.3 mln t on 9.97 mln ha or 99.9% of the total area;
  • buckwheat — 65 thou. t on 48 thou. ha or 71%;
  • millet — 131 thou. t on 71 thou. ha or 79%;
  • corn — 2.7 mln t on 452 thou. ha or 9%;
  • soybean — 1.5 mln t on 675 thou. ha or 43% yielding 2.29 t/ha;
  • sunflower — 7.5 mln t on 3.4 mln ha or 58% yielding 2.21 t/ha;
  • sugar beet — 791 thou. t on 17 thou. ha or 8% yielding 45.4 t/ha.
