Grain export 2019/20: commodities supply exceeds 12 mln t

Since the start of 2019/20, Ukraine exported 7.7 mln t of wheat, 2.89 mln t more from the corresponding period last year.

As of September 24th, Ukraine delivered to foreign markets 12.4 mln t of grain and leguminous crops. Commodities shipment increased 4.1 mln t (1.5x) from the prior year's comparative period.

By the data of the Agrarian Ministry, grain exported volumes in the reporting period are as follows:

  • wheat —  7.7 mln t (up 2.89 mln t y-o-y);
  • barley — 2.76 mln t (up 839 thou. t y-o-y);
  • corn — 1.93 mln t (up 516 thou. t y-o-y);
  • rye — 1.9 thou. t (36.1 thou. t less y-o-y).

In the 2018/19 season, grain exports from Ukraine reached 49,74 mln t. This volume is 21% (10.37 mln t) higher from the indicator for the 2017/18 comparative period (39.37 mln t).

In 2019/20, Ukraine may export a record volume of wheat, 18.2 mln t, which is almost 18% higher from the previous season's indicator, 15.5 mln t.
