Ukrzaliznytsia set to conclude the first grain contract by the end of 2019

Ukrzaliznytsia plans to conclude the first contract for the purchase of grain by the end of 2019. This was informed by Andrey Ryazantsev, Business Development Director at Ukrzaliznytsia, RAIL.insider reports.

"We're working on developing and approving a regulatory framework. We hope to announce the first deal completed by the end of the year," commented Andrey Ryazantsev.

He also added that Ukrzaliznytsia plans to purchase grain, not through tenders in the ProZorro e-procurement system.

"We inquired about the possibility of buying cereals independently from ProZorro and we have already received a statement from the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade that this is possible under the law. This was a key issue. Taking into account their duration, holding tenders kills the opportunity to engage in this type of activity," said Business Development Director.

Previously reported that Ukraine might increase its monthly capacity of all-grains and oilseeds’ shipment to a record high, close to 6 mln t.
