Harvest Online 2019: average grains yield 10 pct higher

As of October 2nd, harvesting of grain and leguminous crops in Ukraine was conducted on the area of 11.5 mln ha or 75% of the total. The crop reached 47.6 mln t using the average yield of 4.15 t/ha, 11.8% higher from the previous year (2018: 3.71 t/ha).

The highest yield of grains and legumes was reported at the farms of Cherkasy (6.15 t/ha), Vinnytsya (5.69 t/ha), Khmelnytsky (5.66 t/ha), Sumy (5.35 t/ha) regions.

By the Harvest Online 2019 project, the new crop volumes are as followed:

  • buckwheat — 75 thou. t on 57 thou. ha or 84%;
  • millet — 142 thou. t on 76 thou. ha or 84%;
  • corn — 7.5 mln t on 1.3 mln ha or 26%;
  • soybean — 2.3 mln t on 998 thou. ha or 63% yielding 2.37 t/ha;
  • sunflower — 10.9 mln t on 4.7 mln ha or 80%;
  • sugar beet — 2.4 mln t on 53 thou. ha or 24% yielding 44.5 t/ha.
