Palm oil import to Ukraine down first in four seasons

In marketing year 2018/19, Ukraine reduced palm oil imports for the first time in the last four seasons to 217.2 thou. tons or by 7.1% vs. 2017/18, UkrAgroConsult reports.

The key suppliers of the product in 2018/19 are as follows:

  • Malaysia — imports decreased by 4.3%;
  • Indonesia — imports increased by 21%.

The market share of other countries decreased by 2% in 2018/19 against 11% in 2018/19.

Under the report, palm oil purchases were resumed by Singapore, Latvia and Switzerland. However, Colombia, Cyprus and India stopped importing palm oil.

Previously reported that the FAO Vegetable Oil Price Index averaged 135.7 points in September, up 1.8 points (or 1.4%) from August, marking the highest level in 13 months.
