Chernomorsk seaport grain shipment scaled up 40 pct

In January-September 2019, the port of Chernomorsk in Odesa region handled 18.81 mln t of cargo, 24.3% more compared to the corresponding period of 2018, USPA reports.

The volume of grain transshipment in the port reached 8.84 mln t, 39.1% higher from the corresponding period last year. Transshipment of imported grain was not carried out during the reporting period. Transit cargo transshipment in the period amounted to 53.63 thou. t.

Container handling increased to 97.506 thou. TEU, 9.9% higher from 9M 2018.

Import transshipment of chemical and mineral fertilizers during the period amounted to 30.26 thou. t.

In 9M 2019, Ukrainian seaports provided for the transshipment of more than 37.6 mln t of grain cargoes, 36.9% more from the prior year's comparative period.
