Grain export 2019/20: wheat supply approached 10 mln t

Since the start of 2019/20, Ukraine exported 15.44 mln t of staple crops. As of October 16th, commodities shipment increased 4.31 (38.7%) mln t from the prior year's comparative period.

By the data of the Agrarian Ministry, grain export shipment in the reporting period are as followed:

  • wheat — 9.93 mln t (3.25 mln t more y-o-y);
  • barley — 3.01 mln t (717 thou. t more y-o-y);
  • corn — 2.45 mln t (537 thou. t more y-o-y);
  • rye — 2 thou. t (55.3 thou. t less y-o-y).

In the 2018/19 season, grain exports from Ukraine reached 49.74 mln t. This volume is 21% (10.37 mln t) higher from the indicator for the 2017/18 comparative period (39.37 mln t).

Previously reported that on October 10th corn quotations on CBOT fell sharply to USD 149.7 per ton against USD 155.2 per ton at previous trading sessions.
