Ukrainian sunflower oil prices surged by more than USD 30 per ton within a week

Export quotations for Ukrainian crude sunflower oil rose sharply last week amidst the strengthening of the global market, Refinitiv Agriculture reports.

"Market concerns about the reduction of palm oil supply have triggered a significant strengthening of prices for all vegetable oils, including sunflower oil," the report says.

As informed by market operators, the prices for Ukrainian sunflower oil increased by USD 10 per ton FOB daily, thus during the week, the prices rose by more than USD 30 per ton.

"Vegetable oils market is rather unstable. The prices are increasing daily," the Ukrainian traders said.

Previously reported that in the period of January-September 2019 unrefined sunflower oil production in Ukraine totalled 3.83 mln t. This indicator is 15.9% higher from the prior year's comparative indicator.
