Beet sugar output in Ukraine 16% under the previous production season

As of December 26th, plants in Ukraine produced 1.388 mln t of beet sugar, the National Association of Sugar Producers of Ukraine (Ukrsugar) informs. This indicator is 16.3% lower from the prior year's comparative period. On the reporting date in 2018, plants produced 1.66 mln t of sugar, having processed 12.25 mln t of sugar beet.

9.19 mln t of sugar beet were processed by the reporting date. 31 plants were launched in the current beet sugar production season.

As estimated by the analytical department of Ukrsugar, sugar export in 2019/2020 should reach 300 thou. t. In September-November 2019/20, sugar exports made up 17 thou. t, 8x less from the comparative period of the previous season (139 thou. t).

Sugar beet harvesting campaign is 100% complete in Ukraine. In the production season 2019, the crop totalled 9.8 mln t using the average yield of 44.6 t/ha.
