Ukraine-Iran trade turnover close to USD 200 mln in 9M 2019

In 2018, Ukrainian exports of agricultural and food products to Iran amounted to USD 421 mln, while trade turnover between the countries amounted to USD 437.5 mln. There is no official data for the year 2019 yet, AgroPolit.com reports.
According to the State Statistics Service, the structure of exports and imports in 9M 2019 indicates that Ukraine sells more to Iran than buys from it.
Exports to Iran in the period of January-October 2019 brought Ukraine USD 157.65 mln, imports stood at USD 35.13 mln.
Ukraine exported the following ag commodities to Iran in January-October 2019:
- corn — USD 126.37 mln (777.36 thou. t);
- barley — USD 17.59 mln (99.16 thou. t);
- soybeans — USD 8.19 mln (26.04 thou. t);
- confectionery — USD 517.4 thou. (374.69 t);
- butter and other fats — USD 400.8 thou. (100 t);
- nuts — USD 238.4 thou. (200 t);
- chocolate — USD 80 thou. (40.73 t);
- livestock, products of animal origin — USD 61.8 thou. (4.5 thou. units);
- cocoa powder — USD 25.2 thou. (24 t).
In addition, whole poultry eggs without shells and egg products, vegetable oils and other items were exported.
Iran's export to Ukraine in the reporting period includes:
- potatoes — USD 35.9 thou. (139.24 t);
- tomatoes — USD 80.2 thou. (99.2 t);
- onions — USD 312 thou. (435.84 t);
- cucumbers — USD 126.8 thou. (170.8 t);
- cabbage — USD 124.3 thou. (357.83 t);
- cherries, apricots — USD 85.6 thou. (103.38 t);
- nuts — USD 58.8 thou. (1.98 t);
- alcohols — USD 37.4 thou. (43.55 t);
- confectionery — USD 17.7 thou. (9.87 t);
- chocolate — USD 3.5 thou. (1.51 t).
Sesame oil and other vegetable oils and other products were imported in small quantities.
