The relevant document was signed by Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba and European Commissioner for European Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Olivér Várhelyi in Brussels as part of the meeting of the EU-Ukraine Association Council.

It is noted that the agreement will allow Ukraine to attract assistance from the European Union to create a more inclusive and competitive agricultural sector focused on the development of small and medium-sized farms and enterprises.

EU assistance is focused on the following:

  • consolidation of the state land cadastre and state register of rights, reforms of institutions and land use system;
  • reforms in agriculture and rural development;
  • ensuring access to financing for small farms by introducing grant programmes.
