The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine (Parliament) plans to start the consideration of the farmland market bill No.2178-10 on February 5.

As provided by the draft agenda, the draft law on lifting the moratorium on the sale of agricultural land from October 1, 2020, and restricting its purchase by foreigners until 2024 will be considered at the Parliament session.

Previously Head of the Parliamentary Committee on Agrarian and Land Policy Mykola Solskiy informed that banks will not be able to buy or in any other way acquire ownership of agricultural land, except to foreclose on the collateral if the debtor does not fulfil his obligation.
