Land market bill consideration on second reading scheduled for Feb 6 — Sluga Narodu

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine (Parliament) will consider the land market bill No.2178-10 this Thursday, Feb 6. This was announced by Oleksandr Kornienko, Head of Sluga Narodu Party, First Deputy Fraction Leader, AgroPolit.com reports.

According to him, the land reform issue is on the Parliament's agenda.

"Its consideration is scheduled for this week, for Thursday," he said.

Previously reported that banks will not be able to buy or in any other way acquire ownership of agricultural land, except to foreclose on the collateral if the debtor does not fulfil his obligation. "Such regulation is conditioned by the fact that banks may consider land plots only as an instrument to secure the borrower's obligations," added Mykola Solskiy, Head of the Parliamentary Committee on Agrarian and Land Policy.
