Grain export 2019/20: 39 mln t traded abroad

Staple grains export from Ukraine has reached 38.99 mln t since the start of 2019/20 (July 2019 – June 2020).

As of Feb. 20, agricultural commodities shipment increased by 7.84 mln t (25%) from the prior year's comparative period, 31.15 mln t, the information and analytical portal of the agro-industrial complex of Ukraine reports.

Grain export structure in the reporting period is as follows:

  • wheat — 16.26 mln t (4.06 mln t more y-o-y);
  • barley — 3.98 mln t (701 thou. t more y-o-y);
  • corn — 18.26 mln t (3.32 mln t more y-o-y);
  • rye — 5 thou. t (82.4 thou. t less y-o-y).

As a reminder, despite the expectation of a slowdown in demand for commodities, China's demand for Ukrainian corn supported export quotations on the basis of FOB Odesa.
