Sunflower oil output in Ukraine at another peak — Ukroilprom Association

As of April 1, 2020, oilseeds processing in Ukraine reached 10.2 mln t, accounting for 45.9% of the gross yield, the Ukroilprom Association reports.

"Sunflower oil production is expected to reach a record level of 6.6-6.7 mln t in 2019/20 (September-August) , 2-3% more YoY," note the analysts.

Since the season's start, Ukrainian producers have processed 9 mln t (59% of gross yield) of sunflower, 0.8 mln t (21.6%) of soybean and 0.4 mln t (12.2%) of rapeseed.

Oil and fat products output in September-March includes:

• unrefined sunflower oil: apx. 3897,6 thou. t, 11.7% higher YoY;
• refined sunflower oil: 536.2 thou. t, +21%;
• soybean oil: 161 thou. t, +3.8%;
• sunflower meal: 3568 thou. t, +3.2%;
• soybean oil: 662.17 thou. t, +2.3%.

Rapeseed oil production in July-March (MY2019/20: July-June) amounted to 160.5 thou. t, 27% more from the prior-year period.

Earlier it was reported that in January-March 2020, sunflower seeds export shipment from Ukraine totalled 12.56 thou. t, 62% less YoY.
