As reported, the Black Sea area should experience another rainy week with significant precipitations of about 30 mm on average. Romania, all Ukraine, the Central and South districts of Russia will be concerned by this rainy weather that will ease the emergence of corn, sunflower and soybean.

In Russia, Volga, Ural and Siberia, conditions should be drier and plantings will be completed soon, analysts note. In Siberia, sowing is 70% achieved so far.

Corn and sunflower areas in Ukraine are sown at 98 and 95%, respectively, data of the Sowing Online 2019/20 Project show. As of May 21, early spring grain, leguminous and industrial crops in Ukraine were sown on an area of 14.87 mln ha or 96% of the planned 15.56 mln ha.
