Egypt purchased tendered Ukrainian wheat from NIBULON and LDC

Egypt's General Authority For Supply Commodities (GASC) purchased 120 thou. t of tendered Ukrainian wheat for shipment within 10-25 July 2020.

According to Latifundist.com market sources, grain was procured from:

  • NIBULON: 60 thou. t at 210 USD/t FOB
  • Louis Dreyfus Company Ukraine (LDC): 60 thou. t at 210 USD/t FOB

Russian (Agro AST, Grain Export, Posco Int., RIF) and French (Casillo) offers were less competitive against Ukrainian grain.

It is the first tender announced for 2020/21.

As a reminder, since the start of 2019/20, grain export shipment from Ukraine has reached 54.35 mln t. Wheat supply as of June 1 reached 20.16 mln t, 33.8% higher YoY.
