Ukrainian farmland price will be less than USD 2 thou. per hectare — opinion

The cost of Ukrainian agricultural land after the launch of the land market will be at most USD 2,000 per hectare, AgroPolit.com reports.

"Today there is a category of land available for sale. These are cases when a foreigner inherited Ukrainian land. He has to sell this land within a year. Today the price of such land is USD 1.5-1.7 thou. per hectare. I think that the price per hectare of agricultural land after the opening of the land market will be up to USD 2 thou. In Russia and Moldova, agricultural land is sold and costs the same. Since the land market was liberalized only politically and not economically, this is the price applicable to Ukrainian farmland," Mykola Kucher, MP, Parliamentary Agrarian Committee member, stated in the interview with AgroPolit.com.

Previously reported that Epicenter K Group plans to buy out farmland leased by the company and is already negotiating it with banks.
