Astarta-Kyiv ag commodities sales slashed, sugar trade lost 1%

Agricultural commodities sales by Astarta-Kyiv agri-industrial holding dropped in 1H 2020, the company's report on the WSE shows.

Sugar sales in the reporting period declined by 1% to 151.55 thou. t on the prior year's comparative period. The average realized price remained unchanged at 10.059 UAH/t.

Wheat sales decreased by 73% from 16.64 thou. t in 1H 2019 to 4.43 thou. t in 1H 2020. Corn sales decreased by 32% to 335.44 thou. t (1H 2019: 492.88 thou. t).

The average realized price dropped both for wheat and corn, 11 and 4%, respectively, to 4.75 and 4.49 thou. UAH/t.

Sales of oilseeds dropped in the reporting period as well. Under the report, sunflower sales fell by 99% to 102 t. Sales of soybean oil were cut by 26% to 19.41 thou. t. Soybean meal trade lost 11% YoY and stood at 82.97 thou. t.

The dairy segment also demonstrated a reduction. Sales of milk amounted to about 46.12 thou. t, 9% lower from 1H 2019, 20.58 thou. t.

Previously reported that the company's net loss for the three months ended 31 March 2020 totalled EUR 13.32 mln, 2.7x higher YoY (Q1 2019: EUR 4.89 mln).
