Wheat flour export slashed by a third so far 2020/21
Since the start of the 2020/21 season, flour export shipment from Ukraine has reached 51.9 thou. t, 36 thou. t (39%) less from the prior year's comparative indicator (87.9 thou. t), the information and analytical portal of the agro-industrial complex of Ukraine reports.
As of Oct. 5 exports reached the following indicators:
- wheat flour: 51.6 thou. t, ▼35.7 thou. t or 31% less from the comparative period of 2019/20
- other types of flour: 0.3 thou. t, ▼0.3 thou. t or 50% less
Product shipment from Ukraine in 2019/20 made up 334.2 thou. t. Flour exports in the 2018/19 season reached 301.4 thou. t vs. 413 thou. t in 2017/18.

By 2025 the volume of world flour consumption may increase by about 20 mln t compared to the current level and reach apx. 400 mln t.
As a reminder, the Ministry for the Development of Economy, Trade and Agriculture of Ukraine and grain market participants signed the Annex to the Memorandum of Understanding on 17 Aug. setting the limit for wheat export from Ukraine in the 2020/21 season at 17.5 mln t, rye 1 thou. t.
UkrAgroConsult previously reported that the UAE remains the key importer of Ukrainian flour: in July-August, the Emirates purchased 9.6 thou. t, 39% less from the comparative period of the previous season.
