Agrotrade reports multi-million CPPs theft in Sumy region

On the night of 25 to 26 May, a group of unknown persons conspired to steal about 4 t of crop protection products from the warehouses of Agrotrade subsidiary in Sumy region, the agricultural enterprise Mir-12.

According to Mir-12 director Volodymyr Marynych, the intruders knocked out an 80 cm by 80 cm hole in the back wall of the storage room to carry out canisters of plant protection products through it. Surveillance cameras were aimed at the main entrance to the premises. The police recovered footprints from the scene, fabric and the tread pattern of the vehicle tyre presumably used to transport the canisters.

According to Agrotrade's security service, a group of armed attackers is operating in Putivl district.

"The question is who buys the stolen inputs. Apparently, we are talking about a whole scheme of supply-sale of stolen products. This is not an isolated case, but a problem that has all the signs of a systemic," the company says in a statement.

Agrotrade set an award of UAH 100,000 for information that may prove useful in the investigation of this incident. The company's hotline number 0 800 30 10 70.

Criminal proceedings have been opened following the offence.
