NIBULON completed spring crops planting 2021

Farms of the company NIBULON finalized spring crops sowing campaign 2021. The company admits it had to carry out fieldwork in the short term.

"A few weeks' delay in fieldwork was caused by a prolonged spring, occasional frosts and a slow rise in temperatures. Subsequently, heavy rainfall in the third decade of May hindered sowing in all regions of the country with no exception," the message reads.

The planting campaign is 100% completed, spring crops sown area totals 41 thou. ha, including:

  • corn: 16.1 thou. ha
  • sunflower: 22.5 thou. ha
  • sorghum: 1.2 thou. ha
  • soybean: 1.2 thou. ha

As reported by the company, crops condition is better than in the prior year's comparative period. This is largely attributable to the presence of more productive moisture reserves in the soil and the rainfall during the last ten days of May.

"The second treatment of winter crops with CPPs, in particular the application of fungicides to prevent the development of plant diseases and top-dressing of plants, is ongoing," NIBULON specialists comment.

Spring grains and legumes were 96% planted in Ukraine as of May 27.
