Barley campaign in southern Ukraine region started at 3.25 t/ha

Early grains harvesting has started in Kherson region. As of June 24, agriproducers have threshed 3 thou. t of winter barley at an average yield of 3.25 t/ha, the Department of Agriculture Development and Irrigation of the State Regional Administration reports on Facebook.

"Harvesting has started in Skadovsky and Kherson districts. Other districts are preparing fields for the start of the campaign in the coming days," the message reads.

Early grains in the region will be harvested on 723.18 thou. ha, including 613.23 thou. ha of winter grains and 109.95 thou. ha of spring grains and legumes.

Winter barley covers 954.7 thou. ha in Ukraine in 2020/21.

Barley export from Ukraine as of June 18 stood at 4.15 mln t, 16% down YoY. Grains export from Ukraine in 2020/21 is 22% lower YoY.
