Horsch to set up production facility in Ukraine
The management of German agricultural machinery manufacturer Horsch plans to further develop its capacity in Ukraine, including the construction of a plant, Traktorist.ua writes.
On June 24, the official opening ceremony of the company's office was held in Velyka Soltanivka village in Kyiv region.
"There are plans to start production facilities in Ukraine. We have already purchased a land plot for this. It is perfectly situated in terms of logistics. Now agricultural machinery is equipped with a lot of electronics, it is difficult to find skilled software engineers in Germany, and Kyiv is Europe's centre for IT technology and we are thinking about opening an IT centre here. That's why we opened our centre near Kyiv. We have been discussing the possibility of opening production facilities for a long time, but there are no specific deadlines yet," says Philipp Horsch, owner of the Horsch Corporation.
The office covers almost 15 ha of land and 3,300 m² of premises. The newly opened centre consists of a head office, a spare parts warehouse, demonstration fields, a marketing hall, a large conference room and other smaller halls where the company plans to hold seminars for dealers, partners and customers in sales and service. The Horsch representative office in Ukraine will employ 35 specialists.
"The seasonal use of our machines is rather short. From now on, our dealers will have continuous access to spare parts and be able to provide technical assistance to customers on the spot," comments Johannes Kluth, general manager of Horsch Ukraine.
According to the company, the complex was built in compliance with all construction standards to ensure the comfort of employees and guests. In addition, a large conference room was equipped with special acoustic panels to improve the sound during speakers' speeches.
The company also contributed to the local infrastructure — Horsch covered the cost of a 3,500 m gas pipe laid.
