Jordan removes restrictions on Ukrainian chicken imports

Jordan lifted restrictions on imports of poultry products from Ukraine, the SSUFSCP(The State Service of Ukraine on Food Safety and Consumer Protection) reports.

"Avian influenza has been a serious problem in Europe in recent years. Ukraine is not an exception. This disease is spread by migratory birds. The last case of the disease was registered in Ukraine in February of this year. And as of today, Ukraine complies with international requirements as a country free from this infection," says Vladyslava Magaletska, head of SSUFSCP.

Earlier, Ukraine regained its status as a Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza free country under the Terrestrial Animal Health Code of the International Epizootic Bureau (OIE).

In 2020, Ukraine exported 435,200 t of poultry products to foreign markets.
