Cargill provides EUR 250 mln loan to Ukraine

At a meeting on November 8, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved the state external borrowing in 2021 through the attraction of loans. Ukraine will attract a loan from one of the largest private companies in the United States — Cargill Financial Services International, Inc.

The relevant Cabinet's order No. 1159 is published on the government portal.

The state external borrowings in 2021 shall not exceed EUR 250 mln. The loan is provided in accordance with the facility agreements between Ukraine and Cargill Financial Services International, Inc. within the limits stipulated by the Law of Ukraine "On the State Budget of Ukraine for 2021".

Interest rates on loans to be provided to Ukraine:

  • 5.15% p.a.
  • 5.85% p.a.

As reported, Ukraine will pay interest on a quarterly basis.

"Repayment and servicing of loans are made from the funds provided by the law on the State Budget of Ukraine for the relevant year," the Cabinet's statement reads.

In 2020, the Cabinet of Ukraine attracted EUR 250 mln from Cargill.
