Ascet Shipping launched another transshipment complex at Dnipro river terminal

Ascet Shipping, a port operator, has launched a second loading facility at the transshipment river terminal in Dnipro. The company has now enough capacity to load two river barges simultaneously.

The company's deputy director for freight forwarding Dmytro Maletsky marks that the capacity of the tug and cargo barge unit for transporting grain cargo is 8,000 t. In addition, with the launch of another loading facility in Dnipro, the handling time of the tug and cargo barge unit was reduced to four days.

"In November, we loaded meal and wheat onto barges at two berths simultaneously and also took in shipments of corn. We have also technologically upgraded the Ascet Shipping's grain storage facility in Dnipro, and now it has the capacity to store consignments of different crops. All this has yielded results: Ascet Shipping's river logistic portfolio has expanded, large companies have become our clients," he adds.

As a reminder, Ascet Shipping signed an agreement to lease two barges from NIBULON in late September.
