Ukrainian agriproducers well provided with fertilizers, least with fuel in planting season 2022
Ukrainian agricultural producers are the least supplied with fuel — 60.2% of the required volume. Nitrogen fertilizers supply totals 68% and PPPs — 70.6%. The best situation is with seeds (76.7%) and complex fertilizers (79.8%). The Seed Association of Ukraine team's research data shows.
To create the infographic, the survey data of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine and the Information and Analytical Agency APK-Inform were used. More than 3,000 agricultural enterprises from all over Ukraine took part in the research. Large enterprises cultivating more than 20,000 ha and small to medium-sized enterprises that cultivated 20 ha or more voiced their needs.

Executive Director of the Seed Association
"Before the sowing campaign, there were insufficient nitrogen fertilizers for 1.2 mln ha of agricultural land, fuel for 1.5 mln ha, and PPPs for 1.1 mln ha. Producers needed seeds for more than 897 thou. ha, and complex fertilizers for 802 thou. ha"
Among the problematic situations, farmers indicated the payment for seeds with the impossibility of their delivery. That is most often observed in farms close to the front line, such as Dnipropetrovsk, Kirovohrad, Cherkasy, Poltava, and Zaporizhzhya regions. Also among the problems are the work restriction of the seed warehouse due to hostilities or the need to purchase additional seeds, which currently cannot be met.

"In this situation, we consider the government and the relevant ministry's actions to simplify the seed certification procedure as accurate, moreover, both when crossing the border and during the internal movement of Ukraine. We also support the actions of foreign partners and other countries that accelerate the transfer of seeds, fertilizers, PPPs, and fuel through their territory. After all, today Ukraine is fighting not only on the military front, farmers are also fighting for the future harvest, which will provide food for Ukrainians and the whole world"
