First eight foreign vessels called at Ukrainian river ports: Navy

The first eight foreign vessels that will deliver agricultural products intended for export by the Danube have already arrived in Ukraine, the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine report.

The Navy will participate in the organization of civilian ships transportation of agricultural products through the Bystre Mouth of the Danube-Black Sea navigation channel.

The use of this channel became possible as a result of the liberation of Snake Island from the russian invaders.

"The island is of strategic importance since it enables control of the surface and partially air situation in the south of Ukraine, which was used by rashists, blocking the movement of civilian ships in the southern part of our country," the Navy noted.

It will also decongest the Sulina Canal in Romania.
