Ukraine's largest seaport Pivdenny resumes operations: Infrastructure minister Kubrakov

The first vessel since February 24 has left the port of Pivdenny today, August 8. The bulk carrier SACURA sailing under the flag of Liberia will deliver Ukrainian agricultural commodities to Italy, the Ministry of Infrastructure reports.

The vessel joins another Liberian-flagged bulk carrier ARIZONA, which sails off the port of Chornomorsk and heads for the Netherlands. Together they carry 60 thou. t of agricultural commodities.

"Today the largest Ukrainian port — Pivdenny is fully involved in the implementation of the Initiative(The "Initiative on the Safe Transportation of Grain and Foodstuffs from Ukrainian Ports"). Thus, all ports of Big Odesa are engaged in the export of agricultural products. Our goal is to increase transshipment in the ports. Within 2 weeks, we plan to reach the capacity of transshipment of 3-5 vessels per day," says the minister of infrastructure of Ukraine Oleksandr Kubrakov.

Not including the ships that departed today, 8 vessels loaded with Ukrainian agricultural products have already left the ports as part of the implementation of the agreements.

The first convoy of ships sailed off the ports of Big Odesa on August 5.
