Grains and legumes 64% harvested in Ukraine by October 13

As of October 13, grain and leguminous crops in Ukraine yielded 27.1 mln t on 6.9 mln ha, which is 64% of the planned area (2021: 70%, 11.6 mln ha), the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food reports.

  • wheat: 19.2 mln t on 4.7 mln ha (100%), avg. yield 4.1 t/ha
  • barley: 5.6 mln t on 1.6 mln ha (100%), avg. yield 3.51 t/ha
  • rapeseed: 3.2 mln t on 1.1 mln ha (100%), avg. yield 2.89 t/ha
  • peas: 256 thou. t on 111 thou. ha (100%), avg. yield 2.31 t/ha
  • millet: 83 thou. t on 36.4 thou. ha (81%), avg. yield 2.27 t/ha
  • buckwheat: 121 thou. t on 87 thou. ha (74%), avg. yield 1.39 t/ha
  • sunflower: 4.5 mln t on 2.2 mln ha (46%), avg. yield 2 t/ha
  • corn: 996 thou. t on 228 thou. ha (5%), avg. yield 4.37 t/ha
  • soybean: 1 mln t on 389 thou. ha (26%), avg. yield 2.58 t/ha
  • sugar beet: 2.6 mln t on 54 thou. ha (30%), avg. yield 47.4 t/ha

Agriproducers in Khmelnytsky region harvested grains and legumes at the highest average yield on the reporting date — 6.04 t/ha.

USDA projects wheat output in Ukraine in 2022/23 at 20.5 mln t, corn at 31.5 mln t, and sunflower at 10.5 mln t.
