Sunflower yields 2.19 t/ha in Ukraine, new crop 68% harvested by October 20

As of October 20, grain and leguminous crops in Ukraine yielded 29 mln t on 7.4 mln ha, which is 67% of the planned area (2021: 76%, 12.2 mln ha), the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food reports.

  • wheat: 19.4 mln t on 4.7 mln ha (100%), avg. yield 4.12 t/ha
  • barley: 5.6 mln t on 1.6 mln ha (100%), avg. yield 3.51 t/ha
  • rapeseed: 3.2 mln t on 1.1 mln ha (100%), avg. yield 2.89 t/ha
  • peas: 261 thou. t on 111.5 thou. ha (100%), avg. yield 2.34 t/ha
  • millet: 97 thou. t on 42 thou. ha (93%), avg. yield 2.33 t/ha
  • buckwheat: 141 thou. t on 104 thou. ha (88%), avg. yield 1.36 t/ha
  • sunflower: 7 mln t on 3.2 mln ha (68%), avg. yield 2.19 t/ha
  • corn: 2.7 mln t on 528 thou. ha (12%), avg. yield 5.07 t/ha
  • soybean: 1.9 mln t on 798 thou. ha (52%), avg. yield 2.36 t/ha
  • sugar beet: 4.2 mln t on 89 thou. ha (49%), avg. yield 47.8 t/ha

USDA projects wheat output in Ukraine in 2022/23 at 20.5 mln t, corn at 31.5 mln t, and sunflower at 10.5 mln t.
